Job Description

We are actively seeking a dedicated Family Practice Physician for an 84-day locum tenens assignment in New Mexico, starting Jul 6, 2026. This role involves providing comprehensive care in a trauma setting, including managing common illnesses, injuries, and responding to codes within a inpatient unit, with shifts structured as 12-hour periods (7 AM - 7 PM or 7 PM - 7 AM). Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide medical care in a trauma environment
  • Diagnose and treat common conditions such as UTIs, abdominal pain, colds, flu, COVID, ear infections, and sore throats
  • Manage sports injuries, broken bones, and administer stitches
  • Assess and stabilize patients presenting with chest pain, heart attack, and stroke; collaborate with on-call cardiology for tele-monitoring and prepare for transfers as necessary
  • Respond to medical codes within a inpatient unit
  • Utilize on-site X-ray and lab facilities for patient diagnosis and treatment
  • Coordinate with an ambulance company for patient transport
