Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens assignment in Texas. This opportunity begins on Apr 1, 2026, for a 120-day contract with flexible scheduling and 12-hour shifts in a freestanding emergency department. Physicians will provide care in a modern facility with diagnostic laboratory and radiology services, including X-ray, CT, and ultrasound, and benefit from a supportive, subspecialty-covered environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Deliver comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions
  • Evaluate, stabilize, and manage trauma, medical, and pediatric emergencies
  • Utilize Cerner EMR for all clinical documentation and patient management
  • Collaborate with laboratory and radiology teams for diagnostics, including X-ray, CT, and ultrasound
  • Coordinate with subspecialty coverage as needed for patient care
  • Maintain thorough and timely case logs and documentation of all patient encounters
  • Ensure compliance with facility protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements


Additional Information

  • Active Texas medical license and DEA (with TX address) required
  • Residency trained in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine
  • Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine (ABEM, ABFM, ABIM, or osteopathic counterparts) preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a hospital ER or recent residency completion
  • Current certifications in ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required
  • Annual requirement of 8 hours of Trauma CME
  • Must provide CME logs, diplomas, SS card, driver's license, color photo, immunization records, and other credentialing documentation as requested
