Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients in an emergency department
- Manage a range of acute and urgent cases, including trauma and cardiac events
- Deliver care in a chest pain-accredited facility with 21,000 annual ED visits
- Collaborate with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and hospital staff
- Ensure timely evaluation, stabilization, and treatment of patients
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care
- Participate in trauma care at a trauma center
- Follow hospital protocols and best practices for emergency medicine
Additional Information
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine required; BC in Family Practice or Internal Medicine considered with at least 2,000 hours of recent ED experience
- Active Texas medical license required
- Current certifications in ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS required
- 9 hours of trauma CME annually required
