Wellhart is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for a 12-day locum tenens assignment at a Trauma Center in Texas. The assignment starts 08/11/2025 and requires coverage for either three 24-hour shifts (7a-7a) or six 12-hour shifts (7p-7a or 7a-7p) per month. This role involves working in a low-volume, low-acuity emergency department with ER beds, managing a diverse patient population including trauma, pediatric, and geriatric cases. The physician will be part of a robust specialist coverage system and will perform various procedures, with suturing being the most common.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide emergency medical care in a Trauma Center
• Manage a diverse patient population: 30% Trauma, 20% Pediatrics, 50% Geriatric
• Perform various procedures, with suturing being the most common
• Be prepared for lifesaving procedures, though they are not frequently used
• Collaborate with the 24/7 Hospitalist Program, OB & First Assist, and Telemedicine support
• Utilize the Medhost electronic health record system
• Work effectively in a low-volume, low-acuity environment
• Coordinate patient care with referral centers as needed
Additional Information:
• Texas state license required
• Experience in trauma care preferred
