Job Description

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in Mississippi, starting Nov 13, 2025. This urgent need involves working 8 shifts per month, each 12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00, in a high-volume setting. Candidates must hold an active Mississippi license and meet specific board and certification requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide emergency medical care to patients in a high-volume environment
• Assess, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries
• Stabilize and manage patients requiring urgent and emergent care
• Coordinate with healthcare team members to ensure effective patient care
• Document all patient encounters and care delivered
• Adhere to hospital protocols and maintain regulatory compliance

Additional Information

• Must have an active Mississippi medical license
• Completion of a 3-year residency required; 1-year post-graduate training accepted if board certified
• Board certifications accepted: Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, Internal Medicine (except residents)
• ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications required
• ABEM exempt; ABPS and AAPS not accepted
• Proof of immunizations and either a 2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold Blood Test required within 0-30 days of starting
• Criminal background check required prior to orientation
• Third-year residents accepted (2 years of case logs requested, not required)
