Physician - Emergency Medicine

Job Description

Our client in Maine is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for a 10-day assignment, beginning Oct 1, 2026. This role involves 8a-8a shifts at a community access hospital, managing a diverse range of acute conditions including respiratory illnesses, stomach pain, chest pain, injuries requiring stitches, broken bones, cold/flu symptoms, substance abuse, and mental health crises. The physician will provide initial stabilization for more severe cases before transfer.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive emergency care within a community access hospital setting.
• Evaluate and treat patients presenting with various acute illnesses such as RSV, stomach pain, chest pain, cold, and flu symptoms.
• Manage traumatic injuries, including suturing lacerations and treating broken bones.
• Address emergencies related to substance abuse and mental health.
• Stabilize patients experiencing severe accidents or complex medical needs, preparing them for transfer to a higher level of care.
