Job Description

We are seeking a board certified or board eligible Emergency Medicine Physician for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in Louisiana, beginning Jan 1, 2026. This opportunity offers a rotating schedule with 12-hour day and night shifts, providing vital care in a dynamic emergency department setting.

  • Schedule: Physician shifts: 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am daily; additional coverage 10am-10pm daily; days and nights


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients efficiently in a high-acuity environment
  • Work collaboratively with advanced practice providers and support staff
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient encounters
  • Follow hospital policies and adhere to best practices in emergency medicine


Additional Information

  • Preferred board certification in Emergency Medicine; board eligible candidates considered
  • BC/BE Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physicians with emergency department experience will be considered
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) required for non-Emergency Medicine boarded physicians
  • Active medical license to practice in Louisiana required
