Responsibilities and Duties
Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients
Evaluate and manage patients presenting with a wide variety of urgent and emergent conditions
Oversee an annual volume of approximately 17,124 patients, averaging 47 patients per day
Manage EMS cases, which account for 19.2 percent of patient volume
Care for patients with an admission rate of 10.6 percent
Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care
Maintain accurate and timely patient records according to facility protocols
Additional Information
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine required
Must hold a Louisiana state medical license
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required (unless Board Certified or trained in Emergency Medicine)
Will not accept alternative boards such as ABPS
Residency training in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine required
