We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Doctor for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in Louisiana, starting Nov 3, 2025. This opportunity requires full-time availability with a minimum of three shifts accepted. The role focuses on providing emergency care in a high-volume setting, supporting a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients
• Evaluate and manage patients presenting with a wide variety of urgent and emergent conditions
• Oversee an annual volume of approximately 17,124 patients, averaging 47 patients per day
• Manage EMS cases, which account for 19.2 percent of patient volume
• Care for patients with an admission rate of 10.6 percent
• Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records according to facility protocols

Additional Information

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine required
• Must hold a Louisiana state medical license
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required (unless Board Certified or trained in Emergency Medicine)
• Will not accept alternative boards such as ABPS
• Residency training in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine required
