Job Description

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens assignment in Florida, starting Dec 8, 2025. This 18-week opportunity offers night shifts in a fast-paced community hospital, with the potential to incorporate day shifts after onboarding. The role features comprehensive 24-hour physician and APP coverage in an emergency department within a hospital. Providers will care for all age groups, primarily adults and geriatric patients, and must be comfortable performing all lifesaving emergency procedures.

  • Schedule: Nights only, 7p-7a; option to incorporate day shifts (7a-7p) once onboard. APP shifts: 9a-9p, 11a-11p. 24-hour physician and APP coverage.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide emergency medical care for all ages, with emphasis on adult and geriatric patients
  • Stabilize traumatic patients in a non-designated trauma setting
  • Perform all lifesaving procedures, including:
  • Intubation
  • Ventilator management
  • Chest tube insertion
  • Arterial line placement
  • Central line placement
  • Manage a broad spectrum of emergency cases in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with advanced practice providers and hospital staff
  • Utilize Meditech EHR for patient documentation


Additional Information

  • Florida medical license required
  • Trauma experience preferred but not required
  • Board certification not required
