Provider Type Needed: Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant
Schedule: 24-hour shifts (12pm–12pm), typically 12-15 hours of active work with the remainder on call; minimal nightly callbacks; last day handoff between 12pm-3pm
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide emergency care and inpatient coverage as the solo advanced practice provider
Perform procedures including cardioversion, central line placement, chest tube placement, EKG, fracture stabilization, hematoma blocks, incision and drainage, intraosseous lines, intubation, laceration repair, local anesthesia, rapid sequence intubation, and ventilator management
Admit and round on patients as needed
Manage acute cases in the emergency department and inpatient floor
Collaborate effectively with on-site or nearby sleeping amenities during call hours
Additional Information
Wisconsin PA license required
Board certification in Emergency Medicine
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
Must have experience in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine with relevant emergency care experience
Previous experience with solo coverage in rural hospitals strongly preferred
