Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in New York. This opportunity begins on Jan 1, 2026, and features 12-hour ER shifts with both day (7am–7pm) and night (7pm–7am) coverage. The assignment requires current NY licensure, active DEA, and advanced certifications.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide emergency medical care in a high-acuity ER setting
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and emergent conditions
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to deliver efficient patient care
  • Document patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records
  • Perform procedures within the scope of emergency medicine as credentialed
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols


Additional Information

  • Active NY state license, DEA, and board certification required
  • Must have completed an EM, FM, or IM residency
  • Required certifications: ACLS, PALS (AHA), ATLS
  • Must provide supporting documentation including CME and case logs from the past 2 years
  • Emergency Nurse Practitioner Certification or Family Nurse Practitioner Certification preferred for NPs
  • Ongoing need with potential for assignment extension
