Job Description

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a 7-day locum tenens assignment in Wisconsin. This opportunity begins on Jan 11, 2026, and features 24-hour solo coverage in a rural hospital setting, with shifts running noon to noon and a combination of on-site and on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide solo coverage for the emergency department and inpatient floor
  • Perform procedures including cardioversion, central line placement, chest tube placement, EKG, fracture stabilization, hematoma blocks, I&D, IO lines, intubation, laceration repair, local anesthetic, rapid sequence intubation, and ventilator management
  • Admit patients and conduct rounding
  • Manage acute and emergent cases as needed
  • Participate in handoff procedures at end of assignment (between 12pm-3pm)
  • Utilize nearby or on-site sleeping amenities during overnight call hours


Additional Information

  • Board certification in Emergency Medicine required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
  • Must have experience in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine with emergency experience
  • Must be licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Wisconsin
