Nurse Practitioner - Family Practice

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Family Practice Nurse Practitioner for an engaging 159-day assignment in South Dakota, commencing Sep 1, 2026. This role involves managing 10a-10p shifts, where you will address a wide array of patient needs, from urgent care issues like UTIs and common illnesses to sports injuries, fractures, and assisting with trauma cases. You will also be responsible for responding to codes within the client's inpatient unit, supported by on-site X-ray and lab services.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage a diverse patient population, including trauma cases.
• Provide care for common illnesses such as UTIs, abdominal pain, cold, flu, COVID-19, ear infections, and sore throats.
• Treat various injuries, including sports injuries, broken bones, and lacerations requiring stitches.
• Evaluate and manage patients presenting with chest pain, heart attack, and stroke, with tele-monitoring support from a cardiologist for critical cardiac and stroke cases requiring transfer.
• Utilize on-site X-ray and laboratory services for diagnostics.
• Collaborate effectively with the contracted ambulance company.
• Respond promptly to codes within the inpatient unit.
