Job Description

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner for an assignment in California, starting May 4, 2026. This role involves covering 6-8 twelve-hour shifts per month, with schedules ranging from 9 AM - 9 PM or 11 AM - 11 PM. Responsibilities include managing patients in a POD B setting for various urgent care needs or triaging patients in a POD C setting within a trauma center.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide care for 6-8 twelve-hour shifts per month.
  • Work in POD B (11 AM - 11 PM) with an RN, managing cases such as belly pain, blood work, prescription refills, sick visits, and chest pain without cardiac risk.
  • Work in POD C (9 AM - 9 PM), triaging waiting room patients, conducting intakes, and directing patient flow.
  • Handle a diverse range of cases typical of a trauma center, including chest pain or pressure, uncontrolled bleeding, sudden or severe pain, coughing or vomiting blood, large open wounds, changes in mental status, sudden vision changes, difficulty breathing, major burns, sudden dizziness/weakness, severe injuries, and loss of consciousness.
