Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in California. This opportunity begins on Feb 1, 2026, with a flexible schedule of six 12-hour shifts per month, allowing you to choose your own schedule. Shifts are typically 9a-9p or 11a-11p, and strong ER experience along with current BLS, ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide acute care for emergency cases within the emergency department
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions
  • Perform clinical procedures within the advanced practice scope as appropriate to emergency medicine
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Document all patient encounters and care provided accurately and promptly
  • Maintain compliance with all hospital protocols and regulatory requirements


Additional Information

  • Must hold an active Nurse Practitioner license in California
  • Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), ATLS, ACLS, PALS
  • Board certification in Family Medicine required
  • Demonstrated strong experience in emergency room settings
