We are seeking an experienced Dentist for a 249-day locum tenens assignment in Vermont, starting Mar 16, 2026. This opportunity features a schedule of business hours Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7am to 5:30pm, providing comprehensive dental care with a focus on Veteran patients.
Provide comprehensive dental care consistent with state licensure laws and regulations
Conduct dental examinations, diagnoses, and develop tailored treatment plans considering each patient’s full medical and dental history
Perform phased dental care including acute, disease control, definitive treatment, and maintenance, covering diagnosis, restorative procedures (including implants), preventive care, oral surgery, endodontic, prosthodontic, periodontic, and other dental procedures within training and licensure
Stabilize and treat acute dental issues such as infections or trauma, and manage post-operative care
Supervise and assign duties to dental hygienists and assistants in accordance with state board regulations
Ensure delivery of medically necessary dental care to eligible Veterans and verify eligibility as defined by statute
Efficiently document all patient care activities, treatment plans, and communications in electronic health/dental records
Comply with all VA, VHA, OSHA, and Joint Commission standards, and participate in quality assurance and regular peer reviews
Assist with process improvement for the clinic’s pilot program, report on dental care activities, and engage stakeholders for program feedback
Additional Information
Minimum 2 years of experience in dentistry preferred
Active license to practice dentistry in any state
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
