Physician - Critical Care Medicine

Job Description

We are seeking a Critical Care Physician for a 30-day assignment in Michigan, beginning Oct 19, 2026. This role involves providing essential inpatient critical care, with a focus on performing various advanced procedures such as moderate sedation, intubation, ventilator management, and the insertion of central and arterial lines. Schedule details will be determined.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform Moderate Sedation
• Conduct Lumbar Puncture procedures
• Execute Endotracheal Intubation and Extubation
• Perform Paracentesis/Thoracentesis
• Manage Ventilators, including assessing readiness for and administering respiratory weaning/oxygen therapy and extubation, and assessing the need for intubation
• Insert Chest Tubes
• Insert PICC Lines, Arterial Lines, and Central Venous Lines either percutaneously or by cut down
• Perform Arterial Line Insertion and Removal (radial and femoral)
• Provide Tracheostomy Care, including tube changes
• Manage Tension pneumothorax in emergent situations
• Perform External pacing, including adjusting temporary epicardial, transvenous, or transcutaneous pacemakers as necessary

Additional Information

• Board Certification in Critical Care Medicine required
• Proctoring of specific procedures may be required for privileging
