Job Description

We are seeking a Critical Care Medicine Nurse Practitioner for our client in Maryland, commencing Aug 1, 2026, for a 30-day assignment. This role involves comprehensive management of post-operative cardiovascular and general sick patients within an Intensive Care Unit setting, including daily rounds, progress note documentation, order management, and performing essential procedures.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage the day-to-day needs of post-operative cardiovascular patients and general sick patients.
  • Write daily progress notes and round on patients alongside nursing and surgical teams multiple times per night.
  • Enter and initiate appropriate orders for the patient population.
  • Transfer patients as necessary and interpret labs and imaging to act upon those results.
  • Manage patients with common diagnoses such as DKA, pneumonia, and sepsis in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
  • Perform procedures, including central line placement and intubations.


Additional Information

  • Board certification in Critical Care Medicine required.
  • Experience with Meditech EHR.
  • Serve a facility with a Level III Trauma Designation.
  • Maryland Board of Nursing license required; a compact license may aid in processing.
