We are actively seeking a dedicated Critical Care Hospitalist Physician Assistant for an 84-day locum tenens assignment in Michigan, commencing Jul 6, 2026. This vital role involves managing an open ICU model, with an anticipated average daily census of 22 patients and approximately 2-4 admissions per day, ensuring comprehensive patient care within a critical care setting.
Responsibilities and Duties
Manage ICU patients within an open ICU model.
Manage an average daily census of approximately 22 patients.
Handle 2-4 admissions per day.
Perform Indirect Laryngoscopy Intubation.
Execute Insertion and Management of Central Venous Catheters.
Perform Insertion and Management of Arterial Catheters.
Administer Moderate Sedation.
Perform Lumbar Puncture.
Conduct Endotracheal Intubation and Extubation.
Manage Ventilators, including readiness for and administering respirator weaning/oxygen therapy and extubation, and assessing need for intubation.
Perform Insertion of Arterial Lines and Central Venous Lines, either percutaneously or by cut down.
Execute Chest Tube Insertion.
Provide Tracheostomy care, including tube changes.
Perform Arterial Line Insertion and Removal (Radial and Femoral).
Execute CVC Line Placement.
Provide External Pacing, including adjusting temporary epicardial, transvenous, or transcutaneous pacemakers as necessary.
Manage Tension Pneumothorax in emergent situations.
Perform Paracentesis.
Additional Information

Prior experience in Critical Care is required.
