Schedule: 10-hour day shifts, 7am-5pm, no call; coverage includes Jan 6-29, Feb 3-25, Mar 3-4, Mar 9-18, Mar 23-29, Apr 7-12, Apr 20-26, May 4-13, May 18-27, Jun 1-7, Jun 15-21, Jun 29 onward
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide neuro trauma and critical care management for hospitalized patients
Perform low to moderate risk procedures, including laceration repair, IV access/insertion (peripheral line), and fracture/dislocation reductions (minimal to moderate displacement)
Conduct high risk procedures such as G-tube placement, endotracheal intubation, cardioversion/defibrillation, LMA, paracentesis, chest tube insertion, and central/arterial line placement
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Document all care provided in compliance with hospital protocols
Maintain a high standard of patient safety and quality care
Additional Information
Active California NP license and DEA required
Board certification in Critical Care Medicine (ANCC/AANP) required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required; Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) preferred but not mandatory
Clean malpractice history required
The role does not include surgical assistance
Availability for all scheduled dates at time of name clear is required
Substantial experience in neurosurgery and/or neurocritical care preferred
