Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a locum tenens assignment in Michigan starting Oct 13, 2025. This 10-day opportunity features day shifts from 7am to 5pm with nightly call coverage. Candidates must be skilled in vein harvesting and arterial bypass procedures and hold an active Michigan license.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist in cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures, including arterial bypass and bypass surgery
  • Perform vein harvesting as required
  • Provide inpatient and ICU care as needed
  • Take night call coverage after regular shifts
  • Collaborate with surgical and critical care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation


Additional Information

  • Active Michigan license required
  • Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery required
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration required
  • COVID vaccination required
  • Local candidates only
  • Prior ICU experience preferred
