Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 10-day locum tenens assignment in Michigan, starting Oct 13, 2025. This opportunity features a Monday-Friday schedule with 7am-5pm onsite shifts and night call coverage from 5pm-7am. The ideal candidate will have vein harvesting experience and be comfortable working in ICU settings.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Participate in cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including arterial bypass and bypass surgery
  • Perform vein harvesting as required
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care for cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients
  • Support ICU patient management as needed
  • Respond to night call and provide clinical support after hours
  • Collaborate with surgical and ICU teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes


Additional Information

  • Active Michigan license required
  • Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery preferred
  • DEA certification required
  • COVID vaccination required

  • Prior experience in vein harvesting and ICU settings strongly preferred
