Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular & Thoracic Nurse Practitioner for a 48-day locum tenens assignment in Maryland beginning Nov 1, 2025. This opportunity offers day shifts, Monday through Friday, with four 10-hour shifts per week. The role involves perioperative care, including post-op management, procedures, and working with a collaborative surgical team.

  • Schedule: Days vary Monday through Friday, 4 ten-hour shifts per week, arrive at 6:30am, see OR patients and complete interval H&P note


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide perioperative care for cardiovascular and thoracic surgical patients
  • Conduct post-operative management including central line, arterial line, chest tube, and wound care vac procedures
  • Perform vein harvesting using the Vasoview hemopro system
  • Assess and document interval history and physicals for OR patients
  • Collaborate with surgeons and OR staff to optimize patient outcomes
  • Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and patient management


Additional Information

  • Minimum three years of experience required
  • Must have CV OR experience
  • Proficiency with vein harvesting using the Vasoview hemopro system required
  • Board certification required
  • ACLS, BLS, and CSR licenses required
  • DEA registration required
  • Open to candidates eligible for Maryland licensure
