We are seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a 344-day locum tenens assignment in Puerto Rico, starting Oct 27, 2025. This role involves managing a wide range of cardiothoracic surgery services, adhering to the highest national standards. The schedule includes clinic evaluations on Mondays and Wednesdays, with operating room responsibilities on the same days from 7:00am to 3:30pm.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide comprehensive cardiothoracic surgery services.
  • Ensure care quality meets or exceeds standards set by ABTS, TJC, and AHA.
  • Supervise Health Professions Trainees (HPTs), ensuring adherence to VA and accrediting agency guidelines.
  • Facilitate the educational objectives and professional development of HPTs.
  • Perform administrative duties related to documentation and training of HPTs as required.
  • Maintain compliance with national standards and VA guidelines in documentation and patient care.


Additional Information

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required.
  • Continuous work experience of at least four years within the last five years is essential.
  • Must be licensed to practice as needed.
