Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a 56-day assignment in Maryland, starting May 15, 2026. This role involves comprehensive patient care, including daily rounds with a Physician Assistant, performing necessary procedures, and managing urgent or emergent surgical cases. The schedule primarily consists of 24hr or 12hr night call shifts, focusing on trauma level III, open heart, carotid, and potential lung cases.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct daily rounds with the Physician Assistant
  • Perform necessary procedures as they arise throughout the day
  • Be available for urgent or emergent surgical issues, with the Physician Assistant handling initial calls
  • Round for 2-4 hours, depending on the number of surgical patients completed that week, typically alongside the Physician Assistant
  • See trauma level III, open heart, carotid, and possibly lung cases
