Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Cardiothoracic

Job Description

Our client in Ohio is seeking a skilled Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 10-day assignment starting Sep 8, 2026. This role involves providing comprehensive post-operative care, performing emergency surgeries on cardiothoracic and vascular patients, and managing consults from various hospital departments. The schedule includes Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM shifts, complemented by floor and beeper call from 3 PM to 7 AM.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide post-operative care for all types of cardiothoracic and vascular patients
• Perform emergency surgery on cardiothoracic and vascular patients
• Take consults and referrals from the ED, Cath Lab, and all hospital providers
• Assist in surgery
• Write prescriptions
• Coordinate care
• Perform patient rounding
• Interpret tests
• Order tests
• Perform vein harvesting
• Retrieve vascular tissues for use as a bypass conduit
