Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Cardiothoracic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 49-day assignment, in Kentucky. This role involves comprehensive patient care including surgical CT, vein harvest, chest tube placement, and first assisting in complex cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures such as CABG, AVR, MVR, and thoracotomy/lung resection. Responsibilities extend to both operating room duties and critical care in telemetry and ICU settings, with required weekend duties including inpatient rounds and various procedures.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform surgical CT procedures.
• Conduct vein harvests.
• Place chest tubes.
• First assist in CABG, AVR, MVR, and thoracotomy/lung resection cases.
• Execute duties within the operating room.
• Provide patient care in telemetry and intensive care unit settings.
• Manage inpatient rounds and perform procedures on weekends.

Additional Information

• Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery is required.
• The EMR system utilized is Epic.
• This assignment is in an an inpatient setting, including OR, telemetry, and ICU responsibilities.
