Job Description

 We are seeking a skilled Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) specializing in Cardiac Anesthesiology for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in Florida. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with a range of cardiac procedures, including simple CABGs, open valve repairs, TAVR, Mitraclips, off-pump cases, and lung surgeries. This full-time position offers a flexible schedule of either 5x8 or 4x10 non-consecutive shifts, starting 03/02/2026. The role involves medical direction and working in a clinic setting, with responsibilities encompassing various cardiac and thoracic procedures, as well as potential general cases while maintaining the cardiac rate.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide anesthesia care for cardiac and thoracic procedures

• Perform pre-operative assessments and develop anesthesia plans

• Monitor patients' vital signs during surgery and adjust anesthesia as needed

• Manage post-operative pain and recovery

• Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals

• Participate in medical direction activities

• Utilize Epic electronic health record system


Additional Information:

• Comfort with cardiac procedures including CABGs, valve repairs/replacements, and structural heart procedures

• Experience with TAVR, MitraClips, TMVR, and septal repairs

• Familiarity with minimally invasive techniques and robotic mitral procedures

• Ability to handle VATS, thoracotomies, and thoracic AAA cases

• Competence in Impella implants and ECMO management

• Willingness to participate in the growing heart failure program

• Valid Florida medical license required

• Possibility of assignment extension
