Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist specializing in Anesthesiology for a 6-week locum tenens assignment in Iowa. This opportunity begins on Nov 26, 2025, with day shifts Monday through Friday, 7am to 3:30pm. The role is integral to an Anesthesia Care Team model with MDA supervision in a dynamic inpatient trauma environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide anesthesia care for obstetric procedures including epidurals
  • Deliver general and bread and butter surgical anesthesia
  • Manage cases involving orthopedic surgeries (upper, shoulders, spine, knees), trauma, ortho spine, GI and endoscopic, and vascular procedures
  • Perform nerve blocks and epidurals with MDA supervision as needed
  • Care for healthy pediatric patients as assigned
  • Collaborate within an Anesthesia Care Team model with MDAs supervising at a 1:3 ratio


Additional Information

  • Experience in an inpatient trauma environment required
  • Must be licensed as a CRNA in Iowa
  • Ability to work collaboratively with supervising MDAs, especially for complex blocks and epidurals
