Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist specializing in Anesthesiology for a 24-day locum tenens assignment in Iowa. This role begins on Nov 3, 2025, and features 7am to 4pm surgery days with 4-8 shifts per month. The assignment includes both adult and pediatric general surgery cases, with no on-call responsibilities and a flexible, clinic-based schedule.

  • Schedule: 4-8 shifts per month; surgery days vary, typically 7am-4pm; clinic hours 8am-5pm; OR starts at 7am; procedure/OR days are Wednesday and Thursday (flexible); no on-call duties


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide anesthesia care for adult and pediatric general surgery cases
  • Administer minor nerve blocks, IV regional anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, and regional anesthesia techniques
  • Manage ventilation and local infiltration
  • Perform spinal anesthesia for total knee procedures
  • Support procedures including cataracts, colonoscopies, EGDs, and carpal tunnel surgeries
  • Ensure patient safety throughout perioperative care


Additional Information

  • Active Iowa CRNA license required
  • NBCRNA certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required
  • COVID vaccination required
  • Board certification in Anesthesiology required
  • Must be local or within driving distance
  • Flexibility necessary for schedule and PTO coverage
