Physician - Sleep Medicine

Job Description

We are seeking a Physician specializing in Sleep Medicine for an 85-day assignment in California, starting Nov 9, 2026. This role involves comprehensive virtual evaluation and management of sleep disorders, interpretation of sleep studies, and prescription of appropriate treatments for patients during 6a-6p shifts.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform evaluation and management services for new and established patients with sleep disorders, including synchronous telehealth.
• Complete electronic consultations and medical record reviews.
• Determine and order clinically indicated sleep testing.
• Review and interpret raw sleep study data, communicating results to referring providers and Veterans within specified timeframes.
• Complete remote physiologic/therapeutic monitoring of devices.
• Manage comprehensive sleep disorders and related medical conditions.
• Conduct new patient visits within 60 minutes and follow-up visits within 30 minutes.
• Perform mandatory setting-specific suicide screening for new patients and complete relevant questionnaires.
• Document all patient interactions in the electronic health record within 24 hours of the clinical encounter.
• Track completion of ordered tests and respond to inquiries from schedulers.
• Maintain board certification, meet CME requirements, and practice within the scope of privileges.
• Adhere to all medical center policies, rules, and regulations.
• Participate in organization/team meetings as requested.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety, security, and privacy policies.

Additional Information

• The client utilizes CPRS for electronic health records.
• This is a virtual outpatient telehealth setting focused on sleep medicine.
• Candidates must be familiar with personal computers, comfortable with televideo evaluations, possess adequate typing skills for data entry, and be able to navigate Windows-based programs. Remote training for the EHR and video conferencing platform will be provided.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to the provision of care is required.
