Job Description

We are seeking a Board Certified Pulmonary Critical Care Physician for a 5-day locum tenens assignment in Iowa. This opportunity begins Jan 1, 2026, and features both in-house day shifts and overnight off-site call, with APP supervision responsibilities. The assignment covers January 1 (7a) through January 5 (7a), with the potential for ongoing sporadic dates on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide Pulmonary Critical Care coverage for a facility
  • Supervise and provide minimal oversight to independently practicing nurse practitioners (APPs)
  • Deliver patient care during in-house day shifts and offer off-site support during overnight hours
  • Respond to critical care needs and emergent situations as required
  • Ensure adherence to facility protocols and standards of care


Additional Information

  • Board Certified in Pulmonary Critical Care required
  • Active Iowa license required for expedited privileges
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), DEA, and CSR certifications required
  • COVID vaccine required (must be noted at the time of name clear)
  • Clean malpractice and background required with no exceptions
