Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care including executing physician orders, dispensing and administering medications, and performing examinations and treatments
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess clinical problems and healthcare needs
  • Record physical findings, formulate prognoses, and collaborate with physicians and other health professionals to prepare patient care plans
  • Recommend medications and other forms of treatment within licensure scope
  • Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and ensure timely release when appropriate
  • Verify cleanliness of equipment and work areas
  • Assist with monitoring the provision of contractual services
  • Maintain positive working relationships with facility staff and outside provider agencies
  • Utilize established policies and procedures while making sound independent judgments
  • Regularly evaluate medical services to prevent inappropriate use or duplication
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of all medical records and documentation
  • Closely monitor potential catastrophic illnesses
  • Recommend methods to improve operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness of health services
  • Audit pharmacy use for formulary adherence and comply with all applicable pharmacy laws
  • Observe and record inmate or resident behavior
  • Accept on-call status as required
  • Provide health counseling and education individually or in groups
  • Read, analyze, and interpret medical and legal documents, including processing such documents as instructions or legal writs
  • Review and respond to lawsuits via corporate counsel, attend court hearings as necessary, and conduct research of charts
  • Communicate effectively with administration, staff, inmates or residents, and the general public
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in multi-disciplinary committee meetings to promote and monitor quality healthcare services
  • Engage in functions in confined areas, work rotating shifts, and conduct physical security checks
  • Evaluate and recommend physical safety requirements for a safe working environment

Additional Information
  • Minimum 1 year of advanced practice provider experience required
  • US Citizenship required for ICE clearance; candidates will undergo thorough background and credit investigation
