We are seeking a licensed Psychiatry Psychologist (Psy.D) for a locum tenens opportunity in Oklahoma, starting Nov 3, 2025. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience as an advanced practice provider and must be a US citizen to meet ICE clearance requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care, including executing physician orders, dispensing and administering medications, and performing examinations and treatments
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patients’ clinical problems and healthcare needs
  • Record physical findings, formulate prognosis, and discuss cases with physicians and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plans
  • Recommend drugs and other treatments within the scope of licensure
  • Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and facilitate early release when appropriate
  • Verify cleanliness of equipment and the work area through personal efforts and supervision
  • Assist with monitoring contractual service provisions
  • Maintain effective relationships with facility staff, nursing staff, contract providers, and outside agencies
  • Utilize established corporate, facility, and correctional policies while exercising sound independent judgment
  • Evaluate medical services to prevent inappropriate use or duplication
  • Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of medical records; review files to ensure documentation of services
  • Monitor potential catastrophic illnesses closely
  • Recommend methods to improve operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness of health services
  • Audit pharmacy use for formulary adherence as directed
  • Comply with applicable pharmacy laws, especially those involving controlled substances
  • Observe and record inmate/resident behavior
  • Accept on-call status as needed
  • Provide health counseling and education individually or in groups
  • Read, analyze, and interpret medical and technical procedures, governmental regulations, and legal documents
  • Review, process, and respond to lawsuits via corporate counsel; attend court hearings when necessary
  • Conduct chart research and review the status of inmates/residents with serious health problems for intervention and treatment completion
  • Communicate effectively with administration, staff, inmates/residents, and the public, demonstrating tact, diplomacy, fairness, and good judgment
  • Attend staff meetings to promote communication and information flow within the medical unit
  • Participate in multidisciplinary committee meetings to monitor healthcare service quality
  • Engage in functions in confined areas, including working rotating shifts and verifying the security of facility areas
  • Evaluate and recommend safety requirements for a secure working environment

Additional Information
  • Minimum of 1 year APP experience required
  • US citizenship required for ICE clearance (expedited clearance process in place)
  • Candidates will undergo a comprehensive background and credit investigation for clearance
  • Must hold a valid license to practice in Oklahoma
