Job Description

We are seeking a board-certified Neurologist for a 30-day locum tenens assignment in Michigan beginning Jan 1, 2026. This opportunity features clinic hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with after-hours call coverage, including 24/7 inpatient call and EEG reads for both inpatient and outpatient cases. The ideal candidate will have experience with radiologic exam interpretation, lumbar puncture, EEG, and brain death examination.

  • Schedule: Clinic hours 8:00 AM–4:30 PM; outpatient clinic appointments Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri from 1:00 PM–3:00 PM within the onsite day; after-hours call coverage; 24/7 inpatient call (8:00 AM start/end); EEG reads as needed for both inpatient and outpatient cases


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Interpret radiologic exams
  • Perform lumbar punctures (spinal taps)
  • Conduct and interpret EEGs
  • Complete brain death examinations
  • Evaluate evoked potentials
  • Provide EEG reads for inpatient and outpatient cases as needed
  • Maintain onsite hospital coverage when outpatient appointments are not scheduled
  • Manage a patient load of 6–8 per day


Additional Information

  • Board Certification in Neurology required (BE not accepted)
  • Active Michigan medical license required at submission
  • Active DEA and current BLS/ACLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale/tPA competency preferred
  • Clean malpractice history required, including carrier information and coverage limits
