Job Description

 Wellhart is seeking a Physician specializing in Interventional Cardiology for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Kentucky. This 21-day assignment begins on 01/19/2026, and involves covering 24-hour on-call shifts from 7 AM to 7 AM, for 3-7 days per month. The interventional cardiologist will be responsible for performing a range of procedures including balloon angioplasties, coronary angioplasty, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), heart catheterization, and coronary angiograms. Additionally, the physician will handle general cardiology responsibilities, responding to all cardiology calls for the hospital and providing consultations. Proficiency in Epic EHR is required. This position offers the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform interventional cardiology procedures including balloon angioplasties, coronary angioplasty, and PCI

• Conduct heart catheterizations and coronary angiograms

• Respond to all cardiology calls for the hospital

• Provide general cardiology consultations

• Manage pre-operative and post-operative care for cardiology patients

• Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care

• Utilize Epic EHR system for patient care and documentation

• Ensure patient safety and deliver high-quality care

• Adhere to all hospital protocols and safety standards

• Maintain clear communication with healthcare team members and patients

Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice in Kentucky
