Job Description

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a 10-day locum tenens assignment in New York, starting Jan 2, 2026. This opportunity involves flexible 12-hour shifts, including both days and nights, in an emergency room extension. Candidates must have MedSurg experience and be comfortable with procedures such as managing drips (heparin and levophed for end-of-life care), trachs, and stable vents.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide patient care in an emergency room extension
  • Manage MedSurg cases and monitor patients requiring drips such as heparin and levophed (including titration for end-of-life care)
  • Care for patients with tracheostomies, stable ventilators, and trach collars
  • Adapt to rapid changes in assignment between day and night shifts based on facility needs
  • Document clinical information accurately and efficiently
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
