Job Description

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a 30-day locum tenens assignment in Illinois, starting Jan 5, 2026. This role offers approximately 10 shifts per month, including 12-hour day and night shifts across weekdays and weekends. The ideal candidate will provide direct care in a fast-paced emergency department, collaborating with physicians and managing a diverse patient census.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide direct patient care in the emergency department
  • Conduct patient assessments and perform necessary procedures
  • Manage acute emergencies in a high-volume setting
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Assist with daily management of a census of approximately 60 patients
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation and communication


Additional Information

  • Must be board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine
  • Active Illinois state license required
  • DEA and Illinois CSR licenses required
  • Certifications required: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
