Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 42-day locum tenens assignment in Pennsylvania, starting Jun 1, 2026. This opportunity features Monday through Friday day shifts with night and weekend call responsibilities. The role requires experience with CT Surgery first assist, including endoscopic vein harvesting, and supporting a range of complex cardiac and thoracic procedures.

  • Provider Type Needed: Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday 7am–6pm, night call 6pm–7am. Weekend call 7am–7am with rounding approximately 10am–4pm.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Scrub and first assist for cardiothoracic surgical cases including CABG, thoracic cases, AVR, TAVR, and aortic cases
  • Perform endoscopic vein harvesting as required
  • Provide perioperative and postoperative patient management in collaboration with the surgical team
  • Participate in call coverage as scheduled, including nights and weekends
  • Support continuity of care for cardiothoracic surgery patients during provider absence


Additional Information

  • Active Pennsylvania nurse practitioner license required
  • Board certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and CPR certifications required
  • DEA license required
